ARLINGTON (AM News Net) — The Dallas Wings (11-14) had a shot at redemption Friday night. Just two games prior, the Wings were defeated on the road by the Seattle Storm (10-14) and tonight they had their home court and four days off before yet another match against their opponents from the Emerald City.

Last time the two teams met, the Storm triumphed 109-93. This time however, the advantage was clearly with the Wings. At College Park Center, the Wings had a win-loss record of 7-5 before tonight’s game, and Seattle has not been doing well on the road with only two wins and seven losses.

The night turned out as a huge success for the Wings, whose offense kept them in the lead. Dallas came out on top 93-80, partially due to an early lead. In fact, the largest lead was in the very beginning, with the Wings up 22-2. Seattle managed to catch up at the end of the first quarter, each teams breaking with 23 points, but that was the only tie of the game; the Wings pushed on each quarter, keeping the lead.

The Storm’s offense recorded only 19 points each quarter afterwards. The offense of the Wings was highlighted with a Dallas franchise-high three-point FGM at 16, beating the previous 15 record. Guard Skylar Diggins-Smith led the game in three-pointers, recording five total.

Dallas can’t get too excited, however. The Wings will get one day of rest before another home game on Sunday against the Sparks (17-6), number two in the league and who defeated them 95-74 in the game prior to tonight’s.

Tip-off will be at 3:30 PM CST at the College Park Center.
