IRVING, Texas (AM News Net) — The 2017 Fatima Summit hosted by Catholic Action began its second day with an 8:00 AM mass  at the Irving Convention Center celebrated by Cardinal Burke again. The mass is the second to be celebrated by the cardinal for the summit, the first being on Friday at St. Monica Catholic Church.

During the homily, Cardinal Burke discussed the mysteries of faith and the importance of the Rosary and praying to Mary.

"The Rosary is nothing more than contemplating with Mary the face of Christ," Burke said. "It is the contemplation of the mystery of faith."

While some in the Church fear the future, whether it be from internal problems or threats from terrorism, Burke stresses the importance of prayer.

"Through the Rosary, peace will be accomplished in our daily lives and the world," Burke said.

Even in the lives of the laity, praying the Rosary as a family is important, according to the Cardinal because it is "an antidote" to the break down of the family.

This will not be the last message received by the faithful. More speeches and activites will go on throughout the day.
