5-6A Volleyball Standings (10/8)Posted 10/08/16, 9:53 AM CST
FLOWER MOUND (AM News Net) – Flower Mound High School Volleyball has moved up into fifth place in 5-6A standings this week. The Lady Jaguars, previously in sixth place in the standings recently now has advanced after a mixed week. The Lady Jags fell to Euless Trinity (5-4 in district) after a five-set contest (22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 11-15). The Euless Trinity Trojans have perched themselves in the desirable fourth place standing, holding onto a playoff spot. Flower Mound just finished the week with a win in straight sets over L.D. Bell. Flower Mound (4-5 in district) has five more district matches in the regular season, the last two of which are at home. Trinity and Flower Mound both face top teams such as Hebron and Southlake Carroll in the games to come, which will result in a last ditch effort by Flower Mound to snatch a playoff spot away from Euless Trinity. For now, the top four teams in 5-6A are Southlake Carroll, Hebron, Byron Nelson, and Euless Trinity. Flower Mound's next game is away on Tuesday against Lewisville. Euless Trinity plays away as well that night at Marcus. © 2016 AM News Net. All rights reserved.
