OKLAHOMA CITY (AM News Net) – The USA National softball team has invited Auburn senior third baseman Kasey Cooper to the 2017 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp from January 1st-5th next year. "Cooper has the chance to return to the roster as she was a member of the 2016 team that won the World Championship for the first time in six years and took silver at the World Cup of Softball," an Auburn press release says. Cooper is one of only 43 players invited to the camp and will complete drills and practice games for a chance to make it on the team. "Athletes who make the 2017 USA Softball WNT roster will be competing at a Pan American Games/World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Championship Qualifier in Florida, where the U.S. will look to qualify for the 2018 WBSC Women’s World Championship to be held in Chiba, Japan and the 2019 Pan American Games to be held in Lima, Peru," the press release says.
