Baylor Softball Defeats Iowa State 4-0

OKLAHOMA CITY (AM News Net) – Standing in second place in the Big 12, the Baylor Bears were smelling a second victory of the day. Baylor defeated Iowa State 4-0 on Friday after an afternoon rest following an 11:00 game against Oklahoma State. Baylor, stacked with powerful hitters, including senior Lindsey Cargill, who entered the weekend batting at .459 and who made the first All-Big 12 team wiped the Cyclones out. The Bears offense brought in four runs, recorded two home-runs in the game, and finished with in total nine hits, compared to Iowa State's two. The Cyclone's defense also had trouble getting off the ground. Iowa State defense, led by sophomore pitcher Emma Hyden made three errors, while Baylor's made zero. The competition was the second last game to be played on Energy Field that night.
