Lewisville Basketball Falls to Flower MoundPosted 01/28/16
by Anthony Mazur Posted originally on The Lewisville Texan. Lewisville Boys Basketball hoped move towards snagging a playoff spot Tuesday in a close game against Flower Mound. Unfortunately, Farmers fans left disappointed after the team suffered through a game-changing final three minutes. Lewisville Head Coach Gary Collier said the team now won’t be able to tell if it will make the playoffs until the end of the season. “We just got to keep playing every game, one game at a time,” Collier said. “All wins are big. We need every win from here on out.” The Farmers started the game with a three-pointer and led 10-6 into the second quarter. By the half, Lewisville began to lose the upper hand with a scoreboard showing 19-18. The Farmers gained breathing room in the third quarter with a larger 31-25 lead. However, Flower Mound rallied in the last three minutes and won 45-43. Collier highlighted what went wrong in the final quarter. “I just think we couldn’t complete a lot of plays,” Collier said. “We had a lot of turnovers in the fourth quarter, and a lot of missed opportunities for layups. We didn’t make some free-throws when we needed it.” The full, original article can be found here. All photos from the events can be found here. |
