Former Lewisville Volleyball Player Named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the WeekPosted 10/18/16, 6:00 PM CST
DALLAS (AM News Net) – Texas State freshman and former Lewisville volleyball player Micah Dinwiddie has been named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Dinwiddie, who used to play as a libero for Lewisville High School, earned the honor after a "dominant" performance against UT Arlington last Thursday. The former Lady Farmer recorded 31 digs, the most ever in a four set match since 2007. She was also named the Freshman of the Week for her efforts. In addition, Dinwiddie is the first and only freshman in Sun Belt Conference history to be named the Defensive Player of the week and earned the praise of her coach. "[Micah] had an amazing night going off for a career-high 31 digs," Texas State head coach Karen Chisum said about the most recent game. "We distributed the ball extremely well. That was great. When we distribute the ball evenly, we can have a very good offense." The Lewisville alum's next game will be against Georgia State on the 21st, in Atlanta. © 2016 AM News Net. All rights reserved.
