FLOWER MOUND (AM News Net) – Flower Mound Baseball (0-1, District 5-6A) dropped their district opener on Tuesday night to Southlake Carroll (1-0, District 5-6A). The Jaguars, who won 14 of their past 19 games, fell 2-1 in a pitchers' duel after eventually allowing runs from the Dragons in the top of the fourth. Flower Mound senior Ryan Stuempfig started as pitcher, ending innings quickly. The game was scoreless until Southlake Carroll earned two runs in the top of the fourth. The Dragons' senior pitcher Kole Ramage also kept out their opponent from scoring for much of the game, until a base-hit by Flower Mound senior Kyle Landers allowed a junior Carson Bradley to run home in time to bring the Jaguars to only a one-run deficit. The Jaguars were unable to earn another run to tie the game. Flower Mound and and Southlake Carroll will finish their series on Friday at Southlake at 7:00 PM. © 2017 AM News Net.
