UIL Releases New District Realignments & Conference ClassificationsPosted 02/01/16
The University Interscholastic League (UIL) released its official 2016-18 football season district realignments and 2016-17 basketball realignments. Under the new plan, Euless Trinity, Hurst Bell, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Hebron, Marcus, Byron Nelson, and Southlake Carroll are all now in district 5-6A. Trinity and Hurst Bell, cross-town rivals, will now play each other in district match. Allen, Plano East, Plano West, Plano Senior and McKinney Boyd are to remain in 6-6A with the addition of Wylie and Denton Guyer. Further in 6-6A, Boyd will face their cross-town rival McKinney High as well. The UIL has also released the new cutoffs of student body size for each of the conferences on Twitter:
Notably, McKinney High, Wylie, and Hurst Bell have moved up from Conference 5A to 6A.
