San Antonio Stars Fall to Seattle StormPosted 07/08/16, 11:20 PM CST
SAN ANTONIO (AM News Net) – The San Antonio Stars (5-14) have been suffering this season and looking to turn things around. The Stars, who have not won any consecutive games, currently sit at the bottom of the conference standings in addition to having to play without Kayla McBride, a top guard, due to a fractured right foot. Meanwhile, the Seattle Storm (7-12), sits just above the Stars in the Western Conference Standings. The Storm, who have been on the road, have lost the last three games before this and successfully sought to stay out of last place. The Storm led the entire game, although by only a few points. At the end of the first quarter, Seattle was ahead 20-17, but increased their lead to 47-38 at the end of the first half. The San Antonio Stars tried to close the gap in the third, bringing the score to a close 58-54. The game was close, with the score being tied on five separate occasions. Nevertheless, Seattle continued to power through the Stars’ defense to win 78-68. The Stars’ next game is in New York against Liberty on Sunday, July 10th. © 2016 AM News Net. All rights reserved.
