Aggies' Braden Shewmake SEC Freshman of the Week for Second Time

DALLAS (AM News Net) – A freshman at Texas A&M has earned his second "freshman of the week" honor in the SEC. Braden Shewmake, from Wylie, Texas, earned the title yesterday after a second consecutive road series sweep. The freshman batted .500 versus Missouri, and .636 on Friday. Shewmake bats .361 overall this season. In the first game, the young Aggie recorded four hits, and five RBI, leading all freshman in D1 baseball in those categories. Shewmake also hit a two-run home-run on Sunday. Shewmake is the first freshman at A&M to win the SEC Freshman of the Week award more than once. The Aggies are currently at play against Houston Baptist and will continue their season play with a three-game home series against Mississippi State starting on Thursday.
