FORT WORTH (AM News Net)  –  A new season is brewing, and the Horned Frogs opened it up on a good note, beating the North Carolina State Wolfpack (1-1) to start their invitational this weekend in front of a packed gym. This is the second year in a row TCU started their season at home, and will be hosting  North Carolina State, Arkansas State, Boise State, and Northwestern State.

TCU (1-0), hosting the events, lasting Friday to Sunday, are so far undefeated with a victory in three sets: 25-18, 25-23, and 25-22. 

Starting from the beginning, TCU only became more and more aggressive. In set 1, the Lady Horned Frogs made 34 total attempts with 16 kills. In the second and third sets, they made 43 total sets each, resulting in 18 and 17 kills, respectively. The Wolfpack from North Carolina just could not keep up. North Carolina State managed 28 attempts in set 1, but only eight kills came as a result.

The Horned Frogs also made a point on their defensive skills, which TCU Volleyball has been working on since Jill Kramer was named as the new head coach. TCU recorded seven blocks this game, compared to NC State's 4, along with 16 digs, compared again to NC State's 13.

The girls ended the night with an autograph session, thanking those who came out for the night.

"Thank you all for coming!" TCU head coach Jill Kramer said in a tweet.
