FLOWER MOUND (AM News Net) – The Marcus volleyball team will have a new head coach this coming season. Former coach Jennifer Cron will be replaced by Danielle Barker, who was the varsity-assistant coach at Flower Mound High School, four miles away.

Coach Barker worked at Flower Mound not only as the assistant volleyball coach, but also as a softball coach and an algebra teacher. Barker started coaching at Flower Mound in 2014 after playing volleyball for Tarleton State University.

Barker hopes to increase the buzz for her new team, especially since Lewisville ISD is home to the defending UIL State 6A volleyball champions, the Hebron Hawks.

"Lewisville ISD is known as an outstanding district that has high expectations for its student athletes," Barker said.
