Auburn Softball Starts Season With Eight Home RunsPosted 10/16/16, 12:49 PM CST
AUBURN (AM News Net) – The Auburn Tigers softball team, Women's College World Series finalists, have gotten off to an impressive start during their fall league. The Tigers so far have recorded eight home runs so far, three of which were from Tannon Snow, a transfer from Washington. Senior Haley Fagan also knocked two balls out of the park. In addition, Auburn's defense is looking ready. The team threw 25 strikeouts when playing Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Wallace State Community College-Dothan. Auburn softball head coach Clint Myers, who coached the Tigers to consecutive Women's College World Series playoffs, expressed his commendation in a release. "I thought our pitchers did outstanding," he said. "They went out there and threw strikes. We walked one in 15 innings, so that's pretty darn good." The Tigers continue playing today with two games against Daytona State, in Auburn. The rest of the games this fall season are all at home. The full schedule can be seen here. © 2016 AM News Net.
