LEXINGTON (AM News Net) – Kansas junior Kelsie Payne is now the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, per announcement today. The right-side hitter was named due to her efforts in helping the Jayhawks end their 25-game losing streak to Texas and making a tie for first place in the Big 12 standings. Payne, who is from Austin herself, records 4.62 kills per set on average, and made 21 kills in the five-set game against the Longhorns last week. The junior Jayhawk will continue her season tomorrow in Manhattan against Kansas State. The full Big 12 volleyball standings can be seen here. Big 12 Sports Six Teams in RPI Top 45
