Kelsie Payne Named AVCA National Player of the Week

LEXINGTON (AM News Net)  –  Kansas junior Kelsie Payne is now the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, per announcement today. The right-side hitter was named due to her efforts in helping the Jayhawks end their 25-game losing streak to Texas and making a tie for first place in the Big 12 standings.

Payne, who is from Austin herself, records 4.62 kills per set on average, and made 21 kills in the five-set game against the Longhorns last week.

The junior Jayhawk will continue her season  tomorrow in Manhattan against Kansas State.
