TCU Volleyball Blocked Out by Iowa StatePosted 10/23/16, 10:25 AM CST
FORT WORTH (AM News Net) – TCU Volleyball (3-6) dropped all three sets to Iowa State (3-5) last night. Despite the support of a sold-out crowd of over 1,800 people, the Horned Frogs lost to the cyclones without winning a single set (25-23, 25-18, 25-19). "It was a tough one tonight against Iowa State," TCU Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer said. "The crowd was great again and I think that was our highest number attendance to date once again so thank you fans for being so supportive. Iowa State made a total of six team blocks, one more than TCU, along with 42 kills. The Horned Frogs recorded 31 kills. This is only the fifth time this season the Horned Frogs were out-blocked. "That first set was close and we had some good things going, but so did Iowa State," Kramer said. "That was a pretty good first set and I thought we fought tooth and nail with them but just came up a little short there. They had a couple of runs of points in the second set and we kept coming back and chipping away, but it was too little too late. Then it was kind of the same thing in the third." Kramer explains that the team needs to fight harder in the next games. "We know that we are a lot better team than we are playing right now and we have to play better team ball," she said. "We are going to get after it in the gym this week. We have a bye and there is no rest for the weary." TCU will travel to Norman to play against the Sooners, who just fell 3-1 to Baylor yesterday. The game will be on Saturday, the 29th, at 12:00 PM. © 2016 AM News Net. All rights reserved.
