FLOWER MOUND (AM News Net) – Fourth in 5-6A football, Marcus (4-3) fell 33-21 to Southlake Carroll Dragons (6-1) last night in a thrilling game. The stakes were much higher for Marcus, as Southlake Carroll sits comfortably at the top of the standings. Despite the loss, however, the Marcus Marauders are so far hanging on to a playoff spot. The Marauders managed to score a touchdown in the first four minutes of the game and led 7-3 into halftime, but in the third and fourth quarters, both teams kept pushing the other back for a touchdown repeatedly. Southlake quarterback Mason Holmes passed 246 yards for two touchdowns out of the 33 points the Dragons scored. Photographer Anthony Mazur went to the game to capture these images. All from the game can be seen here. Marcus plays next week against their crosstown rival, Flower Mound. Southlake Carroll will play at home against Byron Nelson. © 2016 AM News Net.
