Marcus Outplayed by Plano East Plano East Lady Panthers Basketball outplayed Marcus today, winning 70-45. As the game went on though, the Panthers got more and more aggressive. The first quarter ended close, with Plano East only up by four at 18-14. However in the second quarter, Marcus was only able to add 12 more points to the board, while Plano East more than doubled theirs, ending the half with a 42-26 lead. In the third quarter, Marcus scored just as many points as it did in the second, and Plano East rose to 60 points, leaving Marcus behind at 34.
Notably, in addition to the increasing scores, Plano East saw an increase in the amount of fouls called against them. At the end, Plano East totaled at ten fouls called against them. Marcus also finished with ten fouls against, however most were called earlier in the game, suggesting an increasingly aggressive Plano East team. Despite the fouls, the Panthers managed to score 70 by the end. Marcus managed to score another 11, finishing with 45 points. Before the game Marcus was ranked 5th in district 6-6A.
